A couple months back I was approached by a representative from Think Equal- a non-profit organization that promotes equality for children worldwide- to illustrate a story for their education curriculum. I'm happy to say, I have finished all illustrations and the next step is production! It has been an exciting and great starting journey for me as a children's book illustrator. I can't wait to get a hard copy in my hands. :)
I've posted the illustrations under 'Children's Illustration-Passing Clouds' so, go take a peek and be on the lookout in the following weeks for the link to purchase a copy of your own if you'd like to support this brilliant organization as well as my artistic efforts! |-Em-|

So... I caved and have re-entered the world of Twitter in hopes of networking and increasing possible work endeavors. I'm not sure why, but I have never really cared for Twitter so I am hoping this reappearance will spark some sort of interest to keep an active presence on the platform. I think the problem is I have trouble understanding how to use it, which is odd for me as most social media sites are a piece of cake for me! I've never understood the incredible mass appeal of Twitter in comparison to Instagram (my personal favorite), but then again, I am a visual person who prefers the aesthetics Insta provides.
Anyways, my Twitter handle is @emtweetskidlit if anyone is interested in 140 character musings of mine.

Updated my profile picture on my Instagram so I thought I'd post a picture of it on my blog :) |-Em-|
I decided to start this blog on my website for more insight on my journey into the kid lit world. I will use this to post sketches, ideas, perhaps inspiration and critiques of existing kid lit, etc.! My main social media use has been steadily Instagram but I figured it's about time to expand on that more so that I may provide some depth into my illustrations and increase my online presence. *Also, to not annoy my current followers with sketch spam :) That being said- welcome to my blog! |-Em-| |
